Hi,
I'm using Sparky rolling (=debian testing) with xfce & lightdm as the login manager.
It is possible to enable power-management at the login screen (before a login is made) so the machine would suspend if there was no login within a specified time?.
I have this setup in my user account but I'm referring to the pre-login phase.
Thanks

The thing to understand is that Xfce is a userland environment - meaning that it only is in effect after someone has logged in. The solution you are looking for would need to involve lightdm directly (not Xfce). Here is a post that shows how that might be done.

Great, thanks.

You could have a simple bash script check every so often if your laptop[?] has power and if not how much battery it has left and if less than N power off.
