How can I tell if my compose key is disabled?

My compose key does not seem to be set to Ubuntu's default. I've started to suspect that it's totally disabled. How can I check for this on Xubuntu 22.04?

I've checked all of the relevant Keyboard menus, but I'm seeing nothing.

Check in Keyboard dialog.

Mine is almost identical to yours. That is to say, my "Use system defaults" box is ticked so that page tells me nothing about my compose key.

It's not mine; the image is clickable.

You have to untick the checkbox to set your own preferences, including Compose key.
