[ SOLVED ] Icons in thunar sidebar..

HI Guys..

I have a bunch of folders bookmarked in my thunar side pane, and I've created some custom icons that I would like to use for them. How can I make thunar use these new icons instead of the default folder icon? I currently have various sizes of them saved into the various folders within places (22, 24 etc), but I'm pretty sure there's more I need to do, but I can't find out what that is.

For info most of the bookmarked folder are on an external drive that has been symlinked to my home folder "/home/furycd001/Raccoonn/".

Many thanks in advance for any help or replies....

Thunar uses GTK3's bookmarking function for this and GTK3 bookmarks don't support icons, only bookmark and optional bookmark label.

Okay, so I can't change the bookmark icons. Would it be possible to change the icons for the folders directly instead and then add them back into the places sidebar?

Interestingly yes!

First, you need to enable thumbnails for folders. Then, when you add the folder as a bookmark, it will use the customized thumbnail in the sidebar.
