missing window decorations [solved]

On my computer I have different user accounts which I log into sometimes.

At some point, one of these accounts suddenly lost xfwm window decorations. While on the others, everything was normal. I didn't notice when exactly it happened.

I tried so many different things:

- sessions: remove cache, tweak settings, add/remove various applications to autostarting
- dot/config files: investigate contents, compare to users where xfce working OK, make changes, check permissions, delete them, replace them
- checking themes
- killing/starting/restarting processes
- installing/reinstalling/uninstalling packages that were causing/solving this kind of problem for other people on the internet

It was slow because often time changes required logout/login or reboot to check the effects. To some extent I was just working around it the problem.

Eventually after weeks/months I discover the issue Window Manager Tweaks > Compositor had `Opacity of window decorations` set to `0`. Why? I don't know.

Problem solved.
