Hey,
I've recently noticed a trend among some linux forums I'm a part of.
I've also used v4.12 for a few months.
While I was on v4.12, both on Debian Testing and Centos 7 with xfce 4.12 from epel, I've noticed Thunar crashing a lot of times on renaming folders, files and such.
Also other people seem to be complaining that the xfce version with Xubuntu is crashing. It's 4.12 on Ubuntu 16.04, as seen on http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/xfce4.
Meanwhile I've been on Debian Stable(8) with v4.10 for the last month and I can't get Thunar crash on file renames, folder creation or any movement.
While my logic isn't scientific, there should have been code changes that causes these crashes in v4.12.
Both Debian 8 and Ubuntu 14 uses Thunar 1.6.3.
Newer version that seems to be troublesome is Thunar 1.6.10.
Package lists for Debian, Ubuntu and Centos 7 EPEL. Both Debian & Ubuntu uses 1.6.10 on newer releases:
