After this past update, the icons do not show for lots of custom actions in my R-Click menu. They do however show up when you are editing a custom action.
Is this a bug?
Thanks

Are you clicking on the desktop or an icon on the desktop?
Are you using a themed icon or are you directly specifying an image file? I'm noticing the same if I directly specify an image file. Doesn't seem to be a bug report for it that I can find about it yet.

Hi ToZ,
I was using Thunar and clicking on a file when I made that screenshot. I just removed the files from the screen as I thought they were irrelevant.
Yes, they are custom icon images. It strange since they show up fine in the editor.
I'm noticing quite a few issues throughout my desktop that have turned my workflow upside down. I know it all in the spirit of progress, but it really feels like 2 steps back. I don't have the time for a bug report right now, and not even sure if this is the problem at the top of my list anyway.
Thanks for the reply as always!

I'm sure I saw a report for this recently but can't find it now. Let me look around a little more. If I do, I'll comment in it.

Still can't find it.
You can work around this in two way:
1. Select only themed icons
2. Copy your custom icons into ~/.icons and then they will act as themed icons. You will find them in the "Uncategorized" section.

Thank you ToZ,
I'll monitor that bug to see if there is any movement. Util then I guess I'll move my icons.

Well I feel like a dummy, but I can't get this to work.
I've tried copying my icons to both the root directory of my icons
~/.icons
and to my actual icon theme I'm using
~/.icons/Arc-ICONS/
Nothing shows up in the Uncategorized section.
I tried updating the icon cache a few ways.
sudo gtk-update-icon-cache /usr/share/icons/* <--no errors
gtk-update-icon-cache ~/.icons/* <-----> gtk-update-icon-cache: The generated cache was invalid.
No idea
gtk-update-icon-cache ~/.icons/Arc-ICONS/* <-----> gtk-update-icon-cache: No theme index file.
index.theme exists. So again ... no idea.
Have any insight you could share?

All I did was copy the icon to ~/.icons. It then showed up in the Uncategorized section. Didn't need to rebuild any caches. Tried it also in a fresh Arch install and it worked in a similar manner.
Can you try copying it to ~/.local/share/icons instead?
Edit: In the linked bug report, someone was successful by copying it to /usr/share/pixmaps or using "xdg-icon-resource install".

Well I'm out of ideas. I have tried everything suggested and nothing works.
I have copied them to
/usr/share/pixmaps/
~/.local/share/pixmaps/
~/.local/share/icons/
~/.icons
~/.icons/Arc-ICONS/
~/.icons/Arc-ICONS/Uncategorized/
I've tried xdg-icon-resource install
for file in $(cat ~/Documents/Thunar_CA_Icons.txt); do xdg-icon-resource install --novendor --size 128 "$file"; done
I have updated the cache as before on all these directories. Just not sure where or how it's failing.
Thanks for trying. I guess I'll keep my eye on the bug report.
Cheers
