Hello!
I'm changing some icons for programs in my desktop. I'm using Elementary Xfce icon pack, and then creating replacements at ~/.icons/elementary-xfce. For example, I use Firefox ESR and Thunderbird from my distro repositories, and the icons I manually changed got applied correctly.
The problem is happening with Flatpak programs, like Ungoogled Chromium and Telegram. When I set an custom icon, it does get applied to their entry in the Application Menu, but not in the Xfce Window Buttons panel - there, it still uses the default icon provided by the program.
For Flatpak programs, I saved the new icon files with their respective Flatpak app ID name (for example, Ungoogled Chrome's icon is io.github.ungoogled_software.ungoogled_chromium.png). I read in this forum thread that the original behavior from Window Buttons was to get the icon embedded by the program, but this behavior changed after Xfce version 4.18. However, I'm using Xfce version 4.20.
Another interesting fact: I tested with another distro with a different desktop environment (Linux Mint Cinammon), and there I could apply the icons to Flatpak programs correctly, displaying their icon both on application menu and taskbar.
What am I doing wrong?
General info -
Distro: Debian 13
