Problems with Wally 2.3.1 on xfce 4.6.1

Hello,

i want to have rotating (chaning) wallpapers and choos wally to do the trick.

The problem is that wally only seem to force the "normal" background dispalying thing to
display another picture form the image list i specified under Desktop Setting -> Background -> image list.

It seems to me that the xfce Wallpapers are displayed ontop the wally ones. Do i have to disable some
option in xfce so i can see the pictures displayed by wally?

lg Andrea

Hello,

You can have rotating wallpapers just using xfdesktop and cron, no need to use wally. Have a look at this thread: http://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=5535

Cheers,

Re: Problems with Wally 2.3.1 on xfce 4.6.1

I know this is an old thread but I recently had the same problem. Actually, wally is designed to work with XFCE and it does this by updating the file
$HOME/.config/xfce4/desktop/backdrops.list
So you just need to specify this list file in the XFCE background settings. This information is in the README.XFCE4 included in the wally source.
