Right-click context menu "click on release"/"double-clicking" issue

If I right-click on something, it usually opens a context/application menu. 
On chromium: Back, Forward, Reload, ...
On thunar: Create folder, Create document, ...
And so on. 

It seems the default behavior is to automatically select one of the items in the context menu when I release my click. So I need to hold the mouse click , hover to the item I want, then release to select it. Or left-click the item afterwards if the cursor is placed outside the box, not hovering above any of the menu items. 

The problem is, sometimes one of the items show up under the mouse. If I accidentally release the click, it will automatically select the item. It always happens in chrome/chromium because the way they lay out the menu. I thought I have a double-clicking issue and bought a new mouse.

Perhaps there are more, but I don't know how to call the problem correctly. I just googled "double-clicking". 

Any ways to disable this behavior? Is it a bug? 
Is switching window manager the only way? 
Should I blame gnome people as always?

The window manager shouldn't be the cause here.

Does changing your Appearance (GTK) theme make a difference? Maybe try with the build-in Adwaita theme:

xfconf-query -c xsettings -p /Net/ThemeName -s ""

Might be a good idea to re-login after that command before testing to make sure its applied properly everywhere.

I think it's related to this old "won't fix" bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/320259 It's a design decision. 
So it probably has been this way for a long time. 

I just noticed it recently, because the way my chromium positions the context menu right below the cursor. Could be a combination of my setting, font size, etc. Kept accidentally misclick an item.

On other applications, they put the menu more slightly to the right. Avoiding misclicks by releasing the right click.

It won't be fixed. And chances are depending on your screen size, font size, theme, scaling, mouse position habit, etc., you may not ever notice it. As always, I blame the gnome people.
